Caterflies Finished

Caterflies Finished
It feels great to finish a project. This one was fun, but a little tough when back stitching the cats' hair. Now, back to Partners In Crime and a few other ufo sidetracks.

Update and changes

The last couple months have been busy with an extended time away from home to sell our other house. I didn't have much time to stitch, except for knitting. Now that I am home, there seemed a need to change projects. Caterflies is still there by my chair to finish. This new (old) one is called Partners In Crime from Sunset. Way back when I first bought it, I sorted the flosses, found the starting point, and readied the fabric in a Q-Snap frame. Then it got tucked away and forgotten. The cats are adorable, each reminding me of two cats I have known. It feels good to start something new, but am watchful to remember all the ufo's and wip's in my stash. The doll's face is started. Hoping to show you progress next month.

Caterflies Progress & Needleworker finished!

Caterflies is almost done. Two kitties need straight stitches for hair. Needleworker was a must-do when I saw it. The supplies were bought before we moved. Needleworker is for me. Caterflies might be given away, but I may stitch the cats individually later and make them into ornaments. These were a nice break from unpacking. So relaxing to stitch on.

Beginning again

Life is still unsettled with trying to buy a house in a new town, selling this place, and packing little bits at a time for a move, but there is some routine returning and I feel the urge to do needlework again. I found Caterflies and began stitching on it. I may pull out odd bits to work on as the mood goes, but Caterflies will be the main project. These cats make me smile and give cheer to my heart. Quite a lot has been done on this since I last posted progress.

Progress on Caterflies and Titanic

Caterflies made a lot of progress. You can now tell that it is a cat. I am enjoying the partial stitches, some of which I had never done before. This is easier than most kits I've worked. U.S. kits are usually just full cross stitches with 1/4 or 1/2 stitches.

Titanic has its lights on now and 3 of her smoke stacks. It's in the plans to finish more of the top deck before going back to the black stitching of Titanic's sides. We'll see.

Progress on Titanic and Caterflies

Our computer has been down for a week, so I am just now updating. Our son was home the last couple weekends, so there wasn't as much stitching done on his ship as I would have liked. Although, I am pleased with what's done and you should be able to see the difference. I decided to work a little more on the 'top' of the ship and extend it out because it made working the black easier to have a guide across the top.

Not much got done on Caterflies, but there is some tummy done to match the face color.

Updating of WIPs, plus a rabbit trail project

It doesn't look like much, but there was progress on Titanic. I stitched 7 more columns of black on the ship's side. This is the biggest area to work on in one color, but I'm determined to get through this first. My goal in the next 2 weeks is to reach all the way to the end of the light blue area. Didn't do any stitching on the Wizard. Am working on the Titanic while our son is at college.

I was able to get Caterflies started.

This project was the rabbit trail. Some very dear friends have 4 daughters, and I planned to have each a pillowcase made for her birthday. Two are done; this is the 3rd and it's now ready for the wash. In my excitement to work on the cross stitch, this project was forgotten for the moment. Now it is done, with a week to spare. The 4th pillowcase is started, but not due until the end of February, so this week is set for more cross stitching.

Trying To Finish What's Been Too Long Unfinished

This is my first-ever posting on a blog. Being it's a new year, and a reminder of more time gone by, it has been pressing on my mind to finish 2 long-time ufo's, with the hope of having them as presents for Christmas 2012. Along with working on these 2 ufo's, I pulled out a Margaret Sherry kit to treat myself, and as a break from stitching on the others. The Wizard is for my daughter, dated from 1995. The Titanic is for my son, dated 1998. It's great to belong to this blog, watching what others are working on, which keeps me motivated to stitch along on mine.
